Predestination

Predestination is a double edged sword. It confirms and confounds. It is a blessed assurance of eternal security and perseverance of the saints. It gives glory to God and His sovereignty. To doubting Christians, it worries them that they may not be among the chosen. To lazy Christians, this is the excuse not to evangelize. To non-Christians, it is an example of grave injustice. To non-Christians who think they are Christians, it leads to Antinomianism or lawlessness, thinking that they can do anything, because they are eternally saved by God's decree.
