You Gotta Serve Somebody

But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. (Romans 6:22 ESV)

There is no freedom in this world. Before we knew Christ, we serve sin and our flesh. When we break the bondage of sin, we became slaves of Christ. So what is our job as Christ's slave? We have to obey His law.

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (Galatians 5:13-14 ESV)

A Foolish Nation

They have made me jealous with what is no god; they have provoked me to anger with their idols. So I will make them jealous with those who are no people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation. (Deuteronomy 32:21 ESV)

But I ask, did Israel not understand? First Moses says, "I will make you jealous of those who are not a nation; with a foolish nation I will make you angry." (Romans 10:19 ESV)

Time and again, we see the Americans trying to kill themselves with some stupid act. Then they survived. It is all in the Bible. The British and the Americans are the foolish nation that God used to glorify Himself.

But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. (1 Corinthians 1:27-29 ESV)

Thus the foolish built the world's largest empire and we had to speak their language. Blessed are the foolish, because they glorify God.
