Step Out In Faith

Step out in faith. Start with small steps. Obey God in the things that you do daily. If you used to cast your net on the left side, cast it on the other side now. If you are a workaholic and a worrier who never rest on Sunday, do it now. You will find that making less effort can create better results when you obey God by faith.

As the crowd was pressing in on Jesus to hear God’s word, He was standing by Lake Gennesaret. He saw two boats at the edge of the lake; the fishermen had left them and were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats, which belonged to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from the land. Then He sat down and was teaching the crowds from the boat.

When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, "Put out into deep water and let down your nets for a catch."

"Master," Simon replied, "we’ve worked hard all night long and caught nothing! But at Your word, I’ll let down the nets."

When they did this, they caught a great number of fish, and their nets began to tear. So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them; they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.

When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, "Go away from me, because I’m a sinful man, Lord!" For he and all those with him were amazed at the catch of fish they took, and so were James and John, Zebedee’s sons, who were Simon’s partners.

"Don’t be afraid," Jesus told Simon. "From now on you will be catching people!" Then they brought the boats to land, left everything, and followed Him. (Luke 5:1-11 HCSB)

And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes. (John 21:6 KJV)

Trust God for your daily essentials. Nothing is too small.

Then Jacob made a vow, saying, "If God will be with me and will keep me on this journey that I take, and will give me food to eat and garments to wear, and I return to my father’s house in safety, then the LORD will be my God. This stone, which I have set up as a pillar, will be God’s house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You." (Genesis 28:20-22 NASB)

Then you will know God and trust Him in big things. You trust Him, even when you do not go where you are going.

By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and went out to a place he was going to receive as an inheritance. He went out, not knowing where he was going. (Hebrews 11:8 HCSB)

Step out in faith, because everyone is doing so, because everyone is blind, blind to the future. We do not know what the next moment holds. Those who knew not God do what they think is right and hopes for the best. But we have our unchanging God who gave us His Word.

For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. (Malachi 3:6 KJV)

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. (Hebrews 13:8 KJV)
