For example, we have verses like this in the Bible:
Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. (Proverbs 26:4 KJV)
Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit. (Proverbs 26:5 KJV)
Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2 KJV)
But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For every man shall bear his own burden. (Galatians 6:4-5 KJV)
What can we understand from this?
- Contradictions exist in the Bible, thus it is not the Word of God.
- The Bible support situational ethics, where the ends can justify the means.
- God allows human discretion.
