The Three Sinners

They cried out again, "Not this man, but Barabbas!" Now Barabbas was a robber. (John 18:40 ESV)

One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him, saying, "Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!" (Luke 23:39 ESV)

And he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."
And he said to him, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."
(Luke 23:42-43 ESV)

Three sinners were scheduled to be crucified. One was substituted by the Lamb of God and two died. After their death, one went to Paradise and one went to Hell.

"One thief was saved that no sinner might despair, but only one, that no sinner might presume." J. C. Ryle

"Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong." (Luke 23:40-41 ESV)

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. (1 Peter 2:24 ESV)
