Failed Eco-pocalyptic Predictions

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time. (Revelation 20:1-3 NASB)

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. (Revelation 21:1 ESV)

Two years ago (2018-11-25) Facebook lock me out of my own account because they suspect someone is posting on my behalf. I wonder which post caused them to think that my account was hacked? I suspect because I posted this article "The Big Bad Forces of Censorship and Intimidation in Climate Science. Willie Soon, PhD - YouTube" on the day before (2018-11-24) in Facebook.

Climate change and ecology will not end the world. The Bible predicted a golden age of a thousand years before the current world will finally come to an end and a new world will be created. But those who refuse to believe continue to write dire predictions that never come true. It is amazing to know that people continue to believe in climate change despite all these fail predictions.

Below are some links of the failed predictions:

Choosing When The Perfect Ends

"For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will. (Matthew 24:21 NASB)

Coming after the worst tribulation the world ever experienced will be a thousand years of peace.

Satan will be locked up and it will be a world without lies, something we can never imagine today. So isn't it wonderful to have such a world? Why does it last only a thousand years and at the end of it, Satan will be released for a while?

Because we are saved by who we believe and not what we do. During a thousand years of ideal condition, everyone who is born during this period will be doing the right thing. But what is in their heart?

And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. (Revelation 20:7-8 ESV)

When he is released, he will go out and deceive the nations. All those who are born in the millennium, who know Jesus as King, who never know what a lie is, who never know sin, will now make a choice that will determine whether they live or die. Like Adam and Eve of old in their original paradise, they will now choose if they will believe in Jesus or Satan.

The Two Religions Faith And Works

There are only two religions in the world. One says you are saved by who you believe and another says you are saved by what you do.

Faith
And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household." (Acts 16:31 ESV)

Works
On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.' (Matthew 7:22-23 ESV)

Saved By Doing

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 7:21 ESV)

Did I always say that we are saved by who we believe and not what we do? Well, the Bible says you also can be saved by doing stuff.

What must you do?

You must do the will of God.

What is the will of God?

To believe in His Son.

For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day." (John 6:40 ESV)

Israel Not Rejected For What They Did

This is what the LORD says: "Just as the heavens cannot be measured and the foundations of the earth cannot be explored, so I will not consider casting them away for the evil they have done. I, the LORD, have spoken! (Jeremiah 31:37 NLT)

Israel will not be cast away, despite their unfaithfulness. Neither will we be cast away. The same God saves us both.

If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. (2 Timothy 2:13 NASB)

Adam's Choice

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, in this way death spread to all people, because all sinned. In fact, sin was in the world before the law, but sin is not charged to a person's account when there is no law. (Romans 5:12-13 CSB)

Adam was the first man. Because Adam sinned, so sin entered the world. Because of sin, death entered the world.

But what did Adam do? Did he break any of the ten commandments? He could not dishonour his parents, because he had none. He did not kill, because the only other human was his wife. He could not commit adultery because there was only one woman. He could not steal because everything belonged to him. He did not have to tell lies since he had nothing to cover up. Anyway, the ten commandments were not given yet so he could not break any of them.

So what did Adam do that cause sin and death to enter the world?

Adam did not believe. Adam did not believe the Word of God. Instead, he believed the word of the serpent. Because of his unbelief, sin and death entered the world.

Today, life is more complicated. We have more than two voices to choose from. We have so many people telling us so many things. And we have so many people claiming to speak on behalf of God.

As it was in Adam's days, so it is today. If we believe the Word of God, we will choose life. If we do not believe the Word of God, we will choose death. Times have changed, but the options are still the same.

For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. (1 Corinthians 15:21-22 ESV)

Believe And Live

But his officers tried to reason with him and said, "Sir, if the prophet had told you to do something very difficult, wouldn't you have done it? So you should certainly obey him when he says simply, 'Go and wash and be cured!'" (2 Kings 5:13 NLT)

People like to believe that the greater the reward, the greater effort is needed. Great thing like eternal life will certainly mean that some extremely great effort must be required of those who wanted it.

First, the bad news. No man can attain eternal life by their own effort.

Next, the good news. You only need to believe in the One who can give eternal life to you.

But nobody believe that eternal life is just a matter of believe. They will try all kinds of difficult tasks and do all kinds of good works. It is so difficult to believe.

And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household." (Acts 16:31 ESV)

Do Good

Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. (Psalm 34:14 ESV)

Turn away from evil and do good; so shall you dwell forever. (Psalm 37:27 ESV)

So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. (Galatians 6:10 NASB)

See that no one pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to each other and to all people. (1 Thessalonians 5:15 NLT)

"But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. (Luke 6:27 NLT)

But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. (Luke 6:35 NIV)

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9 ESV)

But as for you, brothers and sisters, do not grow weary in doing good. (2 Thessalonians 3:13 CSB)

Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. (Hebrews 13:16 ESV)

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it. (Proverbs 3:27 ESV)

For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10 NIV)

Saved By Who We Believe

We are saved by who we believe, not by what we do. If we believe God, we will live.

This was so from the beginning at the Garden of Eden.
And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, "You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." (Genesis 2:16-17 ESV)
But the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. (Genesis 3:4-6 ESV)
Adam refused to believe God and he died.

It was still the same during the time of Abraham.
And Abram believed the LORD, and the LORD counted him as righteous because of his faith. (Genesis 15:6 NLT)

Even today, we are saved by believing in Jesus.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:16-18 KJV)
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. (John 3:36 ESV)
"Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins." (John 8:24 NASB)
Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. (1 John 5:12 ESV)

Are you doing good works to save yourself? You may be very disappointed.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV)
"But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they also are." (Acts 15:11 NASB)

We do good works after we believed and our works do follow us.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10 ESV)
But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person's work has any value. (1 Corinthians 3:13 NLT)

Life And Death - Bible's Perception

Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. (1 John 5:12 ESV)

The Bible talks about life and death. He who believes in God lives. He who does not believe in God dies. The Bible is a very thick book. But I believe this is a good summary.

God Saves

And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household." (Acts 16:31 ESV)
Jesus (×™ֵשׁוּ×¢ַ) means God saves, or more specifically, Yahweh saves. God's salvation is the theme of the Bible.

We are saved by who we believe, not by what we do. God told the people they will be saved if they believe Him. But God revealed His plan of salvation progressively. But at every stage, the underlying theme is always to believe God.

To Seth also a son was born, and he called his name Enosh. At that time people began to call upon the name of the LORD. (Genesis 4:26 ESV)
And Abram believed the LORD, and the LORD counted him as righteous because of his faith. (Genesis 15:6 NLT)
From Adam and Eve, through the antediluvian period till Moses, men thought they were saved by offering animal sacrifices to God.

Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine; and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words that you shall speak to the people of Israel." (Exodus 19:5-6 ESV)
The Law was given to the Israelites through Moses. From the time of Moses till Christ, the Israelites thought that offering animal sacrifices in the Temple was how they were saved.

The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. The sacrifices under that system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship. If they could have provided perfect cleansing, the sacrifices would have stopped, for the worshipers would have been purified once for all time, and their feelings of guilt would have disappeared.
But instead, those sacrifices actually reminded them of their sins year after year. For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. That is why, when Christ came into the world, he said to God,
"You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings. But you have given me a body to offer.
You were not pleased with burnt offerings or other offerings for sin.
Then I said, 'Look, I have come to do your will, O God - as is written about me in the Scriptures.'"
First, Christ said, "You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings or burnt offerings or other offerings for sin, nor were you pleased with them" (though they are required by the law of Moses). Then he said, "Look, I have come to do your will." He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect. For God's will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.
(Hebrews 10:1-10 NLT)

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. (1 Peter 3:18 NIV)

And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him. (Hebrews 9:27-28 ESV)

Finally Jesus (×™ֵשׁוּ×¢ַ) came and died for our sins. The revelation of God's salvation is now complete.
