The Messianic Kingdom

A Messianic Kingdom will be established after four earthly kingdoms was first prophesied by Daniel.

Daniel gave us an overview of the future (Daniel 2:24-45). After four Gentile empires, the Messianic Kingdom will be set up. The King will be the Branch (Isaiah 11:1-9). A recreation of heaven and earth (Isaiah 65:17-25) will follow.

The Messianic Kingdom comes in four phases.

Phase 1: Unobserved (now)
Now it started small (Matthew 13:31-32) and unnoticed. It is invisible, a spiritual kingdom existing within the hearts of believers (Luke 17:20-21). Outwardly, it is in a mixed state, having both true and false citizens (Matthew 13:24-30).

Phase 2: Physically established (end of tribulation)
At the end of the great tribulation, Satan will be cast into the bottomless pit and the Messianic Kingdom will be physically established, when the Jesus the Messiah (i.e. Anointed One) reign as King on this earth (Revelation 11:15).

Phase 3: Millennium rule on the old earth
The Messiah will reign for a thousand years (Revelation 20:4). Then Satan will be released from the bottomless pit and he will led a second Gog and Magog rebellion (Revelation 20:7-10). Then it will be followed by the great white throne judgement (Revelation 20:11-15).

Phase 4: Eternal existence on the new earth
After the great white throne judgement, God will create a new heaven and new earth where the saints will dwell forever in eternity (Revelation 21:1-4).
