Following God has some unexpected results.
You may run into a storm.
Now when Jesus saw a crowd around him, he gave orders to go over to the other side. (Matthew 8:18 ESV)
And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep. (Matthew 8:23-24 ESV)
It may take longer than expected, for example 40 years for a 11-day journey.
Normally it takes only eleven days to travel from Mount Sinai to Kadesh-barnea, going by way of Mount Seir. But forty years after the Israelites left Egypt, on the first day of the eleventh month, Moses addressed the people of Israel, telling them everything the LORD had commanded him to say. (Deuteronomy 1:2-3 NLT)
