Good to Read the Bible

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4 KJV)

We read the Bible because it is our spiritual food. Without food, we will die.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 CSB)

The Bible equips us for every good work.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (Psalm 119:105 KJV)

It guides us.

Your commands are always with me and make me wiser than my enemies. I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes. I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts. (Psalm 119:98-100 NIV)

It makes us wise.

And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. (Luke 24:27 ESV)

In it, you can find Christ.

Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. (Romans 15:4 ESV)

We see examples of God's action and it gave us hope.

Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:17 NLT)

It is the only offensive weapon in God's armoury.

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. (Romans 10:17 ESV)

Through it, we can bring the good news to all we come into contact with.

It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, "Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?" Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, "Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?" No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it. (Deuteronomy 30:12-14 NIV)

Download a Bible app into your handphone and you have no excuse not to read the Bible.
