And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. (Matthew 24:14 KJV)
Has the gospel of the kingdom been preached to all nations? Yes. In this age of internet, the gospel has indeed been preached to all nations. Then shall the end come. But what is this "end" that is coming? Is it like what people who believed in the so-called Mayan prophecy, that the world will end tomorrow, on 21st December 2012? No. This "end" refers to the end of the world as we knew it, and the beginning of a new era, ushered in by the second coming of Christ. Christ will rule the world for a thousand years, and the whole creation will be destroyed.
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (Revelation 20 :4 KJV)
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. (Revelation 21:1 KJV)
I write this now, before 21st December 2012, so that you know that I never believed in the Mayan prophecy. I expect to read this blog after 21st December 2012.
The end will come, one thousand years after the end.
