A Panoramic View of the Bible And What We Can Learn From It - 2

The whole Bible can be summarized with four words - creation, fall, redemption, restoration.
The Bible described creation in two chapters (Genesis 1:1 - 2:25).
The Bible described the fall in one chapter (Genesis 3:1 - 3:24).
The Bible described the restoration in one and a half chapters (Revelation 21:1-22:5).
The bulk of the Bible is about redemption.

What will happen if we do not know the Bible?
  1. We do not know the origin of evil;
  2. We do not know God's redemptive plan;
  3. We cannot understand why evil flourish and good suffer;
  4. We do not know that evil will end and paradise on earth will be restored;
  5. We come up with our own standards of morality and justice to explain the world we see;
  6. We create gods, religions and philosophies based on these standards.
So Paul, standing in the midst of the Areopagus, said: "Men of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are very religious. For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription: 'To the unknown god.' What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you. (Acts 17:22-23 ESV)
